For instance - there are wind turbines, but they cost so much for an individual - but a mobile home park fits the parameters of multiple residents drawing power from a local turbine. The problem is in the cost.
Who will front the initial cost? Not the residents, due to fixed incomes. Not the owner - because they may not have enough capital to set it up? (even with tax credits). What I see is the hurdle to over come is the up-front costs. PG&E - the electric company - would have the most vested interest in keeping their customers on their 'grids' - but even they would balk at the up-front costs.
Specifically we're looking for areas where renewable energy would present an opportunity to greatly reduce human suffering. For example, we're researching a project in Nicaragua where they have a severe shortage of clean water, resulting in disease as well as thirst. They have no conventional energy infrastructure with which to power a conventional water treatment plant. So we'll be bringing in solar powered water purifiers that will capture rainwater and treat it so it will be drinkable. We're currently raising funds to do this, with a goal of roughly $65,000 for the equipment, plus the costs of transportation. So any projects in a similar vein would be ideal for us. Then of course, as more funds become available, we'll want to expand into larger projects.

Thanks for clarifying. I'd definitely be interested in having you contribute your knowledge and skills to the project! BTW, are you the developer on the PickensPlan site? I see it referenced on your page. If so, good work!

Otherwise, everything looks great!
I do so love Colorado. Thanks for your message. I teach high-school here in Denver, and I am excited to try incorporating this endeavor as a project for my students. I think it will be a powerful experience. Take great care. And, thanks for the note. I hope you are good.
